Very limited supply of this outstanding wine

Tasting Notes
My objective with this wine was to demonstrate in my own style the potential of what I believe to be one of the finest vineyards in Margaret River. This wine represents the culmination of 42 vintages working with Chardonnay. Making this wine was very rewarding and I am very happy with the result.
Vintage Conditions
In 2014 we experienced a drier spring than previous years, followed by a warm summer. Ideal ripening conditions with warm days and cool nights produced great fruit flavour in a low cropping vintage.
Vineyard
Planted in 1980 on the south bank of the Margaret River, the gravelly loam vineyard is dry grown and cane pruned adhering to biodynamic principles. The fruit is hand harvested and moved only a short distance to the winery.
Winemaking Notes
Grapes were hand-picked early in the morning and whole bunch pressed. I sent the unsettled juice direct to barrel with the barrel selection being paramount. Indigenous yeast was allowed to initiate primary fermentation followed by malo-lactic fermentation of all barrels. After minimal handing and 11 months in oak. The wine was bottled in February 2015.

Robert Bowen Margaret River chardonnay 2014 ($60)
Another outstanding chardonnay from Rob Bowen. This guy really does know how to make some serious chardonnays. He gets the fruit from Margaret River and has crafted a brilliantly fine and precise wine with so much intensity and concentrated depth all delivered with a sense of poise and refinement. Very long palate with that lick of acid and citrusy grapefruit on the finish a feature.
